Woodworm is the general term used to describe all timber-boring insects that attack wood and timber, causing damage in buildings.
There are a number of timber boring insects that attack wood in properties throughout Dumfries & Galloway. The most common form of woodworm is the ‘Common Furniture Beetle’ (official name Anobium Punctatum) which attacks soft wood. Therefore, a property survey is extremely important to find out which form of Woodworm is present. The survey defines which type of treatment is needed to get rid of the woodworm.
